An affordable mask for beginners to paintball, JTUSA's full-sized Elite Headshield provides complete, all-around protection. The all-black Headshield offers a wealth of venting to keep you cool when the action gets hot--from the top to the sides. It has a standard foam interior, adjustable nylon stretch lens strap, adjustable chin strap that clicks to lock, and an adjustable rear plate to protect you from shots fired from behind. The Headshield also offers a 180-degree angle of vision, visor, and hard face protection. It comes with a clear Single lens, which is recommended for average, temperate weather conditions where fogging will not be a factor. Additional lenses with tinting and fog-resistant Thermal protection are also available.

this is a great buy! totally worth the money and protection. some people complained about it not fitting them and being too small, i am going to assume that they either A- have a big head or B- they did not notice the quite obvious adjustment strap....
well in my opinion this helmet is perfect. it is light and sleek. the protection is quite good but i recommend you purchase a neck protector as well to get the best results possible, because this particular helmet leaves the neck fairly unprotected. it didn't fog for me but maybe i just got lucky. it breathes REALLY well and the sight from the inside is wide and clear. it shipped fast and is worth the money. go for it!
and btw: if you are a girl and dont want to have to wear your hair down while playing, this helmet works with a pony tail so if you are trying to find a helmet that will work for you, this is the one....trust me....im a girl so getting a helmet that worked for me was important when choosing which one to purchase. |
Wouldnt use anything but a full mask.

Maybe it's just me but I am a little paranoid when paintballing and when I have this thing on I feel really safe. The details say that it is anti-fog which it is but not all that well. You will have to have a good anti-fog solution for it after a few good runs.
It fits very comfortably and I can put it on with one hand. Sometimes the snap under your chin gets stuck somewhere inside but that's probably just my fault for throwing it around. Been shot at a lot in the head and I dont feel anything. If you got the money go higher but if not this is a great bargain. |

The HeadShield will be overkill for most paintball players. For one thing, it gets hot under a mask anyway, and a helmet is twice as bad because the hot air under the helmet has nowhere to go, causing your mask to fog up faster. Also, helmets tend to be harder to adjust and put on. Finally, after a few times playing, you will usually get enough situational awareness to avoid getting shot in the back of the head anyway.
The JT HeadShield is actually a mask with a helmet attachment. Rather than a single band to adjust tightness, now we have to make sure the helmet part is aligned correctly. One of the securing fasteners is smack on top of the head, which is quite painful if your head fills the entire space. Also, to put it on you have to put your chin to the chin of the mask and fold the mask over your head (think how Darth Vader's mask works in Return of the Jedi). If you wear glasses, like I do, this is next to impossible to do with your glasses on (which you kind of need to see while you play, I assume).
However, once the helmet portion is removed, the mask itself is decent (essentially a JT Elite), though it only has a single untreated lens (big thumbs down) and that little silver piece over the mouthguard (unnecessary but aesthetically pleasing) will tend to come off after one or two rough games.
Consider the helmet if you play speedball and get bunkered regularly, but my advice is to stick with a regular mask. |

I just received the helmet. Overall I would say this is a great helmet. I can't wait to test this out.
My only complaint is that the foam digs into the skin when you put on the mask.
This is also a two piece mask where the top part can be removed. You can turn this into a single mask if you want. |
