Paintball Accessories
Paintball is a popular outdoor game that can really get your adrenaline pumping. Over ten million people play paintball – just in the United States.
Paintball is sometimes classed in with war games and sniper games, since a marker that looks much like a gun is used to eliminate opposing players. However, players are eliminated with brightly colored paint, not violence.
Paintballs are usually made out of gelatin, and filled with dye and polyethylene glycol. These paintballs are propelled by guns or "markers," as some prefer to call them, powered by compressed air or C02.
Although paintball games mimic warlike activities, they're usually pretty safe. Goggles are used for eye protection, and the danger of injury isn't much greater than any other sport that involves a lot of running on uneven ground. Other paintball accessories help make the game safer.
Originally, paintball guns were modified from the Nelspot 007 agricultural gun. These paintball accessories were manufactured by the Nelson Paint Company, and intended to help ranchers mark cattle from far away. Foresters also used these guns to mark trees at a distance.
The first paintball game was played by twelve people on June 27, 1981, using marker guns as paintball accessories. Two of these players – Bob Gurnsey and Hayes Noel - are responsible for where paintball is today. They've helped develop the sport and make it popular.
Today, there are a lot of different paintball accessories available for people who enjoy this sport. The most basic of all paintball accessories is just a paintball gun, some paintballs, and a mask or pair of goggles to protect the eyes.
People who play often will add other paintball accessories, like padding for the knees and elbows, chest protection to prevent bruises from high speed paintball impacts, throat protectors, bags to carry extra paintballs, swabs to clean out the barrels of a marker, and clothing designed to camouflage the wearer. Some people even repurpose equipment intended for survival in the wilderness.
Of course, having the best paintball accessories won't necessarily make you the best player. However, playing with low quality paintball accessories can make good players do less well, and destroy their enjoyment of the game.
That's why it's important to make sure that you buy the highest quality equipment you can, even if you don't want to spend a lot. There's quality paintball equipment available in many stores that will help you play well without breaking the bank.
