Paintball Gun Basics
Paintball is an action packed game which both the young and the old enjoy. What makes it an interesting sport is the fact is it so easy to play.
Paintball also tests the player's abilities to avoid getting tagged during the game. Tagging a player is the most basic concept of the game, as the object of the game is to tag a player with paintballs and eliminate them.
In order to assure that each player has the maximum fun, there are rule variations. Depending on where you play the game, the rules could greatly change from place to place. Although the basic concept of the game will never change, some rules can vary.
The rules are put in place to ensure that each player remains safe during a paintball game. Among the most popular game rules are to "mark the opposing player or the opponent's general" or to "capture the opposing teams flag".
In the sport of the paintball, it heavily depends on the use of equipment. In order to play the sport of paintball, you will need a paintball gun for each person participating in the game. You will also be required to wear paintball safety gear, such as a paintball mask. (article continues below)...

As with any other sport out there, high end paintball equipment and guns does not necessary mean you will be a better paintball player. However, if you choose to purchase low quality equipment or paintball guns, it could dramatically affect the game negatively.
Generally speaking, paintball guns are compressed air powered guns which generally utilize high pressure air
or carbon dioxide to properly operate. Paintball guns are also known as paintball markers, since they use paintballs to "mark" the other players.
Paintball guns are known to have muzzle velocity of up to 91 m/s or 300 ft/s. This muzzle velocity value allows for the paintballs to break on impact. However, they do not cause any tissue damage if a person is hit by a paintball gun.
All paintball guns are equipped with this muzzle velocity value, but not all paintball guns come with the exact same features. Some of the more specialized paintball guns come with some enhanced features.
Some paintball guns utilize electropneumatic technology, where an electronic microswitch makes the gun react faster. The gun will fire at rates of up to 30 paintballs per second.
Some of the paintball guns on the market today are designed to resemble real guns. The Tippman A-5 is one of the paintball guns with a realistic appearance, along with the Smart Parts SP8. These types of paintball guns are often referred to as mil-sim paintball guns.
This term is basically short military simulations. This class of paintball makers or gun tends to be more expensive. They are generally more rugged and reliable when compared to other high end paintball markers.
