When you can upgrade your equipment do so. Many accessories aren't very expensive to upgrade and doing so will help you be more efficient as well as increasing your confidence.

Changing tactics often will help you to confuse your opponents while doing the same thing each time will allow your opponents to learn your patterns and use them against you.

If you can get to know your field before the game it will help you to plan your strategies. Look around, learn the hiding places as well as open areas and try to visualize strategies your opponents will use.
